Adopt an Elderly - São Vicente de Paulo Asylum

On September 24, the Rotary Club of Santos carried out, at the Asilo São Vicente de Paulo, the “Adopt an Elderly” project.

The action began at 9 am, with the Ocular Screening carried out by the medical team of the Grottone Health Ocular Institute, coordinated by fellow members of the Rotary Club of Santos, Gustavo Teixeira Grottone and João Carlos Grottone and the participation of Drs. Renata Louise Archer (Head of the Glaucoma Sector at the Grottone Health Ocular Institute), Cristiane Coelho Ruiz (Head of the Retina Laser Sector), Daniela Matsuda, Juliana Teixeira Grottone (Ophthalmologists) and the Administrator of the Grottone Institute, Tiago Formoso. Care was carried out for all elderly people admitted to the Asilo São Vicente de Paulo, through the home care unit, which the Grottone Institute has, thus allowing a comprehensive examination to be carried out with clinical treatments, referrals for surgical and clinical planning, elderly people who had more complex pathologies. The aforementioned institute will attend to the needs of patients.

There was also the delivery of 6 kits containing: home appliances, hygiene items and diapers donated by the companies of the companions: Nelson Fernandes, Terezinha Bastos, Marcelo Arata, João Carlos Grottone, Edgard Hernandes and a special kit assembled by the wives of the RCS companions.

About 60 people, including companions, family members, exchange students, Interactors, Rotaractors and Kidians participated in the Lunch for the Elderly, with live music with the band “Versus Murph”, by companion Marcelo Lopes. The presentation also had the support of André Equipamentos, companions Sérgio André and Leonardo Carvalho.

TV+, with its program, it turns out, covered the entire event and, in the next few days, will air the report showing how this beautiful RCS event was.
